Universal Audio recently said (I think over a Facebook post) that they still feel their emulation sounds closer to the original than anything out there on the market, and keep in mind this is the company that still makes the hardware version and has access to some of the best original vintage units.Īlso, the Waves versions are based on revised units, whereas the UAD emulation was done on a vintage unit. It's silly to say that the UAD emulation doesn't sound as good because it's "old", especially if it's just a guess and people saying this haven't used the UAD version and don't know more about the emulation and what they're comparing it to. ![]()
